James Kay Associates have an excellent commercial opportunity for a seasoned Buyer to join their growing retail business in Nottingham.

This role will report into the senior management team working in a team of buying and procurement specialists, with over 13,000 product lines and increasing you will be sourcing finished goods and working with suppliers throughout the UK.

You will have responsibility for pricing and further development of existing ranges and will also be expected to research, propose, source and manage new ranges.


What you will be doing:

• Control purchase of products, capital and non-capital lines as per the store replenishment requirements or sales forecasts and expediting orders once placed
• Purchasing including raising purchasing orders, checking invoices and dealing with supplier payments
• Shipping including overseeing dispatch, monitoring supplier deliveries, booking in deliveries and working with the warehouse teams
• Manage supplier relationships, maximise stock availability and lifecycle management
• Work with the sales and marketing teams for promotions and stock clearance campaigns
• Ongoing analysis of products and performance categories
• Negotiate with new and existing suppliers
• Monitor supplier performance, returns and supplier feedback

What we are looking for:

• A buying/purchasing expert sourcing finished or retail goods
• A skilled negotiator and team working experience
• Commercial acumen
• Ability to analyse complex reports and interpret data
• Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills

My client offer a superb salary for the right candidate circa 43-50k depending on experience, working Monday to Friday 8.30-6 with an early finish on a Friday based at their office in Nottingham.
